FEARS „» STRENGTHS/SUPPORTS
for Goal: Friendly Visitor program
We will advertise on our website
2.We will not advertise thru Volunteer Victoria

FEARS „» STRENGTHS/SUPORTS
for Goal: VLSCS will have its own space

1.Lack of Funds $$$
2.With our own space we will be a TARGET
3. Fear of sharing space with non-lesbians

FEARS „» STRENGTHS/SUPORTS
for Goal: VLSCS is strong

1.That we wont get 9 new members

FEARS „» STRENGTHS/SUPORTS
for Goal: VLSCS has 4 events

That we are overly optimistic

We have a committee
We have resources

FEARS „» STRENGTHS/SUPORTS

Most everyone had attended Coffee Talk, Fri. Movie, Craft Fair etc.
The comments are thoughtful & stimulating.
We are looking for ways to generate more membership involvement and see this chat forum as possibly one vehicle to share ideas and energy.

OPINION SURVEY RESPONSES - 25 received- Thank you to all of you who sent in responses, much appreciated.

Coffee Talk - 16;     Movie Nite - 17;   Gala - 17;  Craft Fair - 17;
Health Fund - 4;      Visioning Conf. - 9;
Other - AGM, Pride, Board member, Oldtimers Dances

Website - 7; Great site, very easy to use; lots of good information; less interesting now.

What Else:

remain available – stay strong- support healthy activity for lesbians.
In the absence of any other lesbian organization in Victoria I'd like to see VLSCS provide Victoria lesbians with a more explicit avenue for connection – for anyone not familiar with the group, the name suggests that only lesbian seniors would be involved and that's not true.
Look at expanding coffee talk/movie night to other neighbourhoods.
If possible maybe more partnering up with other orgs./ gay or straight to share resources/energy/space & volunteers.
I would suggest that the VLSCS board & volunteers not add anything to the 'to do' list at this time.
..Can't think of anything else.
Make website more vital; maintain & increase membership; educational outreach.
Further community liaison with gay groups to unite rather than splinter our energy into different factions doing similar things.

Health Fund:
not sure how it works but maybe dental assistance might be a consideration.
healthy inexpensive activities.
Don't know anything about the health fund, but generally, they need nutritious food and adequate housing.
Dental; is it possible to set up a private group medical/dental plan.
Cash, which is pretty hard to come by right now.
Counseling help by professional, transportation to appts, healthy meals – delivery?
For those who are shut in, ..take then out from time to time to your activities, or visit, do errands.
A sense of not being isolated; a sense of community, The health fund is very little help for those without adequate medical/dental plans.
Some kind of exercise group combined with nutrition education.
Opportunities to share resources eg. Cooking together once a month & sharing; or book exchanges; opportunities for inexpensive social activities: visiting, walking.
Less judgmental & more tolerant community.
